This is a published photograph on the April 1943 cover of the Farmers Federation News showing a team of plow horses being driven by a girl in a dress. The caption for the photograph on page 6 reads, "Rose Cook is a Good 'Plowman' (Cover Picture Explanation): When the editor of the Farmers Federation News heard that Rose Cook, the 13-year-old daughter of Cal Cook, in the Leicester section of Buncombe County, had plowed the family garden, he went to investigate. Rose took hold of the plow handles like a veteran, and the pictures shown here and on the front cover are the result. She is studying both home economics and agriculture in West Buncombe high school...."
